Alan Ricci Obituary

Alan was is survived by his children Alan, Philip and Suzanne, his mother Janice Ricci and father Carl Ricci and his brothers Wayne and Ron. Alan is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren Xavier, Alexis, Isiah, Juilianna, Giovanni, Antonello, Siena, Lucca.

As a child Alan's smile and laughter were contagious. His joy in life, especially showed through, during Christmas Season. He would shake each box trying to tell you what was inside. As a young man Alan was competitive and loved the challenge of multiple sports, but loved the sport of baseball even more.

Alan was selected as an all-star on the Elk Grove Pirates Little League team. He also played baseball in the Babe Ruth league in which he excelled also being selected as an all-star. Alan graduated from Elk Grove High School (EGHS) in 1972 and while attending EGHS lettered in varsity baseball. Alan’s exceptional athleticism in baseball gave him the opportunity to be scouted by professional baseball teams.

After graduation he worked jobs locally in Elk Grove and then joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Oklahoma City CG-5 as a gunners mate.

After military service Alan worked various jobs including Concert Lighting Technician, Fuel Tanker Driver, Demolition Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Drag line operator, Mill worker and in his later life worked clearing PG&E power Lines for Tree's Inc. Alan was an avid San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers fan and passed away peacefully while watching the 49ers play. Alan was most relaxed when fishing and was feared by the California fish population.

Alan you will be missed and always loved. Rest easy, we love you.
